Warm Brown-Leaning Greys for Natural Shading and Soft Shadows

The Copic Sketch 12 Warm Grey set holds every Warm Grey value from W-00 to W-10, giving a gentle brown undertone to shading.

Copic Australia describe the Warm Greys as carrying a hint of brown, which delivers a natural, warm result rather than the cold edge of the Cool Grey family. With twelve evenly spaced values, the set lets you model skin shadows, wood, stone, paper textures and interiors, moving from the barely there W-00 up to the heavy W-10 for the deepest recesses.

Use the Medium Broad end to block in shadow shapes quickly, then turn the marker around and use the flexible Super Brush to soften edges and pick out creases. Copic note the markers can be refilled and the nibs swapped, and the Sketch barrel fits their airbrush system.

Combine these warm neutrals with colour art markers, add structure using artist pencils, and keep studies together in a visual art diary. For texture and toned grounds, browse art paper and canvas.

FAQs

You get twelve Copic Sketch Warm Grey markers, W-00, W-0 and W-1 up to W-10, packed in a clear acrylic case that comes with a lid. The codes are listed on the black band.
Warm Grey has a brownish tint that Copic Australia describe as natural and warm, so it sits well with skin tones, timber and earth colours. Cool Grey leans blue and Copic suggest it for metal.
Copic list the Sketch range as refillable using Copic Various Ink in the matching code. Their refill guide estimates roughly seven Sketch refills from a single bottle.
According to the Copic catalogue, Sketch comes in more colours and holds more ink, and it works with the Copic Airbrush System. Ciao costs less, has a round barrel and needs refilling sooner.
Yes, Copic describe Sketch nibs as replaceable. Their nib guide suggests using tweezers and only removing a nib when it actually needs replacing.
