Twelve Cool Grey Shades for Metal, Shadow and Product Rendering

The Copic Sketch 12 Cool Grey set gathers the full C-00 to C-10 run of blue-tinged greys into one clear stand-up case.

Copic Australia describe these Cool Greys as carrying a hint of blue that gives a cold, crisp finish, and they single the set out for depicting metal. The twelve values step evenly from the almost white C-00 to the deep C-10, so an illustrator can lay a pale base and then darken shadows in measured stages across vehicles, appliances, buildings and night scenes.

Each marker carries a Medium Broad nib at one end for wide panels and a flexible Super Brush at the other for tapering edge shadows. Copic state the Sketch markers are refillable, that the nibs can be replaced, and that the barrels suit the Copic Airbrush System.

Add colour from our wider art markers range, sharpen outlines with fineliner pens, and test your grey scales on stock from art paper and canvas or inside a visual art diary before starting final renders.

FAQs

Twelve Copic Sketch markers in the Cool Grey family, coded C-00, C-0 and C-1 through C-10, standing in a clear acrylic case with a lid. Each code is printed on the case band.
Copic Australia describe Cool Grey as having a hint of blue for a cold, crisp effect, while the Warm Grey set leans brown for a natural, warmer look. Choose Cool Grey when you are rendering metal, glass or cool shadows.
Yes. Copic list Sketch markers as refillable with Copic Various Ink, and their refill guide puts one bottle at about seven Sketch refills. Match the ink code to the marker, for example C-5 ink for the C-5 marker.
Copic fit each Sketch marker with a Medium Broad nib and a Super Brush nib. Copic also describe the nibs as replaceable when they wear.
Copic advise working with a spare sheet under your artwork so the ink does not reach the surface below. Results depend on the paper you choose, so test a corner first.
