A Yellow Lid for Bottles, Cans and Containers

Compass 7606013 puts a yellow ringed round opening on the Compass 7606010 60 litre grey bin, the lid sites usually choose for the mixed recycling stream of bottles, cans and plastic containers.

Yellow is widely used across Australia for commingled recycling, so staff and visitors tend to recognise it without reading the sign. Weatherdon leave the choice of stream to you; check what your waste contractor collects before labelling the bin.

The opening is round, the right shape for a drink bottle or a can to drop straight through, and the yellow ring around it is a removable centre ring for easy cleaning, according to Weatherdon. This is the lightest of the coloured lids at about 600 g, and it shares the 45 x 33 x 10.5 cm footprint of the others.

Next to the red general waste lid, it gives a simple two bin setup for a kitchen or breakout room; add the blue and green lids for a full four stream station.
