Copperplate 6B Pencils for Rich, Dark Tone

Columbia Copperplate 617006B is a box of 20 hexagonal 6B lead pencils, the grade ACCO Brands describes as giving rich, dark lines. That description makes it a natural choice for drawing and expressive shading.

ACCO Brands presents Copperplate as the flagship Columbia series, and the 6B keeps its signature red barrel and dark brown cap. ACCO's specification lists the barrel type as hexagonal. Close-up ACCO imagery shows 6B printed on the barrel with the columbia and copperplate marks, so it is simple to pick out from a mixed set.

On the ACCO Brands product page the lead is described as sharpening easily without crumbling, while the 617006B carton shows "leads don't crumble" and "easy to sharpen" beside the 6B. ACCO also calls it premium, high-quality lead with smooth writing performance.

Other grades for underdrawing are in the drawing pencils range and our lead pencil collection. Sketch paper and other basics sit under drawing supplies, with every Columbia pencil grouped on one page.
