Mustard Ochre for Earthy Landscapes
Yellow Oxide is an earthy mustard ochre for students painting dry paddocks, sandstone, autumn leaves and ochre-toned patterns.
Earthy yellows give landscapes a lived-in warmth that bright yellows cannot. The swatch next to this tube is a mustard ochre that turns golden where brushed thinly over canvas. It is printed Yellow Oxide on a mustard label band, and the 75ml Chroma tube is also printed with the Chromacryl logo and medium bodied students' acrylic.
A personal tube of ochre keeps landscape colours consistent from lesson to lesson, which matters on longer projects that run over several weeks. It slips easily into a sketching bag for outdoor work, and the mustard label band is quick to pick out from the brighter yellows.
Team it with more earth tones from acrylic paints, choose art paper and canvas for outdoor studies, and protect clothes with art smocks and aprons. Schools can order via educational supplies.
