A 250ml Jar of Brown Black for Generous Colour Work

A 250ml jar of Chroma Brown Black puts a dark chocolate brown sitting close to black on hand for antique furniture studies and earthy shadow work.

Printed on the label: Atelier, Interactive, Artists' Acrylic and BROWN BLACK. Brushed out on the swatch card, Brown Black moves from a warm near-black brown to a soft mauve-brown grey in the thinner strokes. Price list details for Brown Black: Series 1, code AI10150. Choose the jar when tree bark, dark timber and deep shadows fill a large part of the picture.

Because the paint shows through the jar walls, Brown Black is easy to spot on a crowded shelf. Classes sharing Brown Black can work from one jar instead of many tubes of a warm near-black brown. Painters working on antique furniture studies and earthy shadow work get a steady supply of a warm near-black brown from one container.

General painting supplies round out a studio built on Brown Black. Our art paper and canvas range has surfaces for tree bark, dark timber and deep shadows. Keep smocks and aprons close when working with a warm near-black brown.

FAQs

The order is one Brown Black jar, 250ml, under code AI10150. The swatch photo only shows a dark chocolate brown sitting close to black; it is not included.
Treat the swatch as a guide: it shows a warm near-black brown, and monitor settings shift colours. The Brown Black jar, seen through its sides, is a second reference.
Not on the part of the Brown Black label visible in our photos, which shows BROWN BLACK under the range name. We list no pigments for AI10150 that we have not seen.
Series 1 jars like AI10150 cost less than Series 2 jars, and Brown Black sits in Series 1.
The Brown Black label prints Artists' Acrylic; we quote that wording for AI10150 and add no grade claim of our own.
