Retarder Additive to Keep Acrylic Workable Longer

Chroma Atelier Retarder is a low-viscosity additive in a 250ml bottle for painters who need more time to blend acrylic colour.

The clear bottle carries the Atelier Interactive mark, a blue Additive band, the name Retarder and the marking Low-Viscosity. Its usage line says to add it to acrylics to slow down the drying time and increase the open time of acrylic paints. That extra time helps with soft blends, skies, skin tones and wet-in-wet passages, especially in warm rooms.

A retarder lets you push and blend colour on the canvas instead of fighting edges that have already set. Because it is an additive rather than a paint, a few drops on the palette go a long way, and the 250ml bottle with a flip cap is easy to dose from.
