Brother lists four machines for this cartridge: the HL-L8430CDW, MFC-L8730CDW, MFC-L8930CDW and MFC-L8970CDW. We stock the MFC-L8730CDW and the MFC-L8930CDW. If your printer is not one of those four, this is not the right cartridge, so tell us your model and we will point you at the right one.

The high yield is rated for more pages before it needs changing. Brother lists the same four machines for both tiers, so the choice is about how often you want to change a cartridge, not about which printer it goes in.

Brother lists three other parts for these printers: the DR645CL drum, the BU635CL belt and the WT229CL waste toner box. They last far longer than a toner cartridge. Brother publishes the drum and belt service life on a pages per job basis, and states the waste toner box only as an approximate page figure. None of the three is quoted to an ISO standard.

For three of the four machines, yes. Brother makes a super high yield TN645XXL, rated at 7,500 pages black and 6,500 pages colour, but Brother lists it for the HL-L8430CDW, MFC-L8930CDW and MFC-L8970CDW only, not the MFC-L8730CDW. If you run an MFC-L8730CDW, this XL cartridge is the highest yield Brother lists for it.
