The genuine Brother DR-645CL drum unit carries all four toner colours and is rated for approximately 30,000 pages at one page per job, or 50,000 pages on three-to-five page jobs.
When print quality starts to fade, banding or repeating marks appear, or colour registration drifts, the drum is usually the cause rather than the toner. The DR-645CL is the single four-colour drum unit for the Brother HL-L8430CDW and the MFC-L8730CDW, MFC-L8930CDW and MFC-L8970CDW, so one part restores all four colour channels at once.
Brother quotes drum life two ways because job length genuinely changes it. Short one-page jobs cycle the drum far more often per sheet, which is why the rating is approximately 30,000 pages at one page per job but around 50,000 pages when work runs three to five pages at a time. Offices printing mostly multi-page documents will typically see the higher figure.
It is an end-user replaceable part, so there is no service call - the unit slides out and the new one goes in. Returns, Refunds & Replacements
Mega Office Supplies accepts change-of-mind returns for unopened and unused products within 14 days from the invoice date, provided the item is returned in its original packaging and in resalable condition. Original shipping costs are not refundable, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and a restocking fee may apply depending on the product type and supplier. Some items, including electronics, assembled or installed furniture, food, beverages, medicines, custom-made products, and certain bulk or special-order items, are not eligible for return unless required under Australian Consumer Law.
