The Brother PT-P900W takes 36mm TZe, FLe flag labels and the entire HSe heat shrink range including the 31mm cassettes that no smaller machine will accept.

If you have bought 31mm heat shrink tube and found nothing to print it on, this is the machine. It also prints at 360 dpi against the 180 dpi of the handheld range, which doubles the effective resolution and makes small barcodes and dense compliance text legible on a 6mm label rather than approximate.

Four print modes trade speed against quality, from 80mm per second in high speed mode down to a 360 by 720 dpi high resolution pass. The automatic cutter does a full cut and a crack and peel cut on laminated tape, which leaves the backing split so the label lifts off without a fingernail. Wi-Fi, Wireless Direct and USB cover connection, and an optional Li-ion battery takes it away from the bench.

Replacement cassettes are in the Brother TZe tape range across all seven widths, and printed conductor sleeving including the 31mm sizes is in Brother heat shrink tube and speciality media. The networked version of this printer is the Brother PT-P950NW, and the full hardware range is in Brother P-Touch label makers.

Brother TZe cassettes in 3.5mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, 18mm, 24mm and 36mm. Thirty six millimetres is the maximum, and only four machines in our range reach it: this one, the PT-P950NW, the PT-P910BT and the PT-E920BT.

Yes. Brother lists HSe-261E and HSe-661E among the cassettes for this model, and it is one of only two machines we sell that will take them. The other is the PT-P950NW. Every smaller Brother machine stops at 21.0mm on 3:1 ratio tube.

It cuts the label fully and also splits the backing paper, so the label lifts off without you having to pick at a corner. Brother notes it only works on laminated tape.

No. The PT-P900W is driven from a computer or a mobile app over Wi-Fi, Wireless Direct or USB. There are status, battery, power and Wi-Fi indicator lamps on the unit. If you need an onboard display, the PT-P950NW accepts an optional touch display unit.

Yes, with the optional PA-BT-4000LI Li-ion battery and battery base, neither of which is in the box. On mains power it uses the supplied AD9100ESA adapter.

The print engine is identical. The PT-P950NW adds wired Ethernet, a USB host port for barcode scanners, optional Bluetooth and an optional touch display unit with keyboard. If you do not need networking or a display, the PT-P900W does the same printing for about a hundred dollars less.

Brother Australia covers the PT-P900W with a 3 year return to base warranty.
