Artline 400 Paint Marker, Red, Box of 12

A box of 12 red Artline 400 paint markers, ACCO Australia code 140002, with a 2.3mm bullet nib for flagging rejects, holds and anything that needs a second look.

Red marks tend to mean stop: a failed part on the bench, a crate held for inspection or a cut line that must not be missed. The materials printed on the 400 box are steel, rubber, timber and plastic, and ACCO adds that its opaque ink stays vibrant on dark or transparent surfaces, so a red tag reads on a grey casting as well as a pale board.

ACCO's listing pairs a hard-wearing aluminium barrel with a valve action that meters the ink, and calls the ink quick drying and highly resistant to water and fading. A box means each inspection point or bench can keep its own red marker instead of sharing one.

Red sits well beside the black and white boxes from the same range; see them all in our paint markers collection. Browse Artline for the full brand, or the markers and highlighters page for other marking stock.

FAQs

About 2.3mm. ACCO Australia lists a 2.3mm line width and a 2.3mm nib size for code 140002, and describes a bullet nib. The barrel prints 2.3 next to the nib symbol.
12. ACCO Australia lists a pack size of 12 for code 140002. The same colour in a box of 15 is ACCO code 140002B.
The 400XF box front prints For use on steel, rubber, timber, plastic and other materials, and ACCO says the opaque ink remains vibrant even on dark or transparent surfaces. Try it on a hidden area first when the finish matters.
ACCO describes the ink as quick drying and highly water and fade resistant; the barrel prints UV Proof, and Artline's website says UV light resistant. Neither publishes a test standard or a time period, so we do not add one.
ACCO's listing says it can withstand exposure to temperatures up to 100°C, but does not say whether that refers to the marker or the dried mark. ACCO's safety data sheet rates the red ink as a highly flammable liquid with a flash point of 11°C (closed cup) and says to keep it away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks and open flames, so keep the marker itself well away from heat.
Yes. ACCO's safety data sheet for the Artline 400XF, 409XF, 440XF and 444XF paint markers, revised 13 Dec 2023, is attached to this page. It classes the ink as hazardous with the signal word DANGER: highly flammable, causes skin irritation, may cause drowsiness or dizziness, may be fatal if swallowed and enters airways, and toxic to aquatic life. It describes a minor solvent odour and says keep out of reach of children. ACCO gives no age rating, so we make no claim about use by children.
