Paper Plates
An uncoated plate will soften under anything hot, saucy or oily, and it fails at the moment a guest is holding it, so match the coating to the menu before you match the size. A laminated or poly-coated face handles a hot meal standing up. Board weight matters as much as diameter, since a wide thin plate folds in the middle under a full serve. Pair with cutlery, disposable cups and napkins.
