Gold Size for Applying Metal Leaf to Small Projects

X-Press It Gold Size 125ml is a water based adhesive for laying metal leaf and leaf flakes on candles, frames, cards and small decor pieces.

X-Press It sells it as an adhesive for gilding applications, and the bottle lists water based, flexible and clear drying among its points. You brush on a thin coat, and the instructions say it turns from white to clear as it cures, at which point the leaf goes onto every sized area. The product photos show it beside X-Press It gold leaf flakes and a candle being gilded.

A 125ml bottle covers a set of candles, a picture frame or a few greeting cards without leaving a large container open. Because the sized areas stay tacky, you can paint a pattern first and then lay leaf over it, so only the brushed design picks up the metal.

The instructions printed on X-Press It Gold Size say to wait roughly 10 minutes of curing time until it changes colour from white to clear, then lay the leaf on all sized areas.
X-Press It prints an optimum open time of 10 to 12 hours on the label, so the sized areas remain workable for a long session.
The label recommends varnishing imitation leaf to avoid tarnishing. Genuine gold behaves differently, but most craft leaf is imitation.

Returns, Refunds & Replacements

Mega Office Supplies accepts change-of-mind returns for unopened and unused products within 14 days from the invoice date, provided the item is returned in its original packaging and in resalable condition.
