Bold Black Gel Ink At 1.0mm

This is the black ink version of the uni-ball Signo Gel Impact UM-153S, a gel ink rollerball with a 1.0mm tungsten carbide ball.

uni-ball's product page for the UM-153S describes a 1.0mm tungsten carbide ball with smooth flowing, acid free ink. A 1.0mm line is wider than the 0.7mm of the Signo UM-120, so a signature or heading reads bolder on the page. The page shows the uni Super Ink logo, and Mitsubishi Pencil Australia advises that pens carrying it are water, fade and time resistant.

Black is the default for forms, contracts and anything that will be scanned or photocopied, and the wider line is easy to read back. The pen is sold here by the box, which suits a reception desk, a school or a shared supply cupboard.

The uni-ball page for this model shows the uni Super Ink logo, and Mitsubishi Pencil Australia advises that pens carrying that logo are water, fade and time resistant. We do not describe the pen as waterproof or fade-proof, and uni-ball publishes no test result for this model.
