Blue Gel Ink With A 1.0mm Line

This is the blue ink version of the uni-ball Signo Gel Impact UM-153S, a gel ink rollerball with a 1.0mm tungsten carbide ball.

The uni-ball product page for the UM-153S gives a 1.0mm tungsten carbide ball and describes the ink as smooth flowing and acid free. That is a wider line than the 0.7mm of the Signo UM-120, which gives blue more presence on the page. The page shows the uni Super Ink logo, and Mitsubishi Pencil Australia advises that pens carrying it are water, fade and time resistant.

Blue is the colour that tells an original from a black photocopy, which is why it turns up in contract signing, invoices and approvals. A wider line makes that signature easier to find on a busy page, and the box of 12 keeps a department stocked.

Black and red in this model are listed with it in gel pens. The retractable Gel Impact and the wider uni-ball range are at uni-ball, other pen types at pens, and notebooks and pads at writing supplies.

FAQs

uni-ball's product page gives the tip size as 1.0mm. That is wider than the 0.7mm of the Signo UM-120.
The uni-ball page for this model shows the uni Super Ink logo, and Mitsubishi Pencil Australia advises that pens carrying that logo are water, fade and time resistant. We do not describe the pen as waterproof or fade-proof, and uni-ball publishes no test result for this model.
uni-ball does not say for the UM-153S. The page gives no closure type, so we have not stated one. uni-ball lists a separate retractable model, the Signo Gel Impact RT UMN-152S.
uni-ball's page lists the refill compatibility field as SNP10UMR10, which looks like two codes run together. Because it cannot be read reliably, we do not name a refill for this pen.
A box holds 12 pens, per Mitsubishi Pencil Australia's price list.
uni-ball's page names no colours as text, only through image file names. Blue is the colour in the supplier's price list for this code, and the code and barcode are the identifiers that match a supplier's records.
Not one we can attach. uni-ball's safety data sheet page lists 21 documents and none is named for this model, so we do not state a hazard classification for it.
uni-ball does not publish a country of origin for this model, so we do not state one.
