Steelo makes these pads from stainless steel wool and guarantees they will not rust. That means a pad can be rinsed and left to dry without turning orange. It is a key difference from standard steel wool pads.
No, each pad already contains soap to help cut through grease. Just wet the pad if you want it to lather, or use it dry for a quick scrub. Rinse the surface afterwards to remove soap residue.
Stainless steel wool is abrasive, so test it on a hidden area first and avoid coatings and soft finishes that scratch easily. Steelo's other soap pads are labelled as not suitable for non-stick cookware or delicate surfaces. Use a soft sponge on those items instead.
