Effective and narrow in application. Steel wool shifts carbon and scale that nothing softer will, and it sheds fine strands that rust in a sink trap and scratch anything coated. Keep it for grill plates and cast surfaces, rinse thoroughly, and never use it on stainless benches or non-stick. Soap-filled pads reduce but do not remove the issue.
