Five Jumbo Mars Lumograph Grades On One Card, Ten Cards Supplied

Staedtler Mars Lumograph jumbo 100J-S BK5 is a blister card of five extra-thick drawing pencils in HB, 2B, 4B, 6B and 8B, and this listing supplies 10 cards.

The jumbo Lumograph carries a lead of about 5.3 mm in a big barrel, made for broad, expressive drawing rather than fine detail. Staedtler describe smooth tonal transitions with a subtle metallic lustre across the greys, high break-resistance while sharpening and drawing, and strokes that reproduce evenly.

The five grades run from a crisp HB for outlines to a soft, dark 8B for heavy shading, so one card covers a full value study. The larger barrel is comfortable over long sessions, and Staedtler recommend their double-hole tub sharpener 5134 and the Mars plastic 526 50 eraser to go with it.

Staedtler state the jumbo Lumograph is made in Germany. Ten cards make it practical for an art room, workshop or studio class.

FAQs

Ten blister cards. Each card holds five Mars Lumograph jumbo pencils, one each of HB, 2B, 4B, 6B and 8B, so 50 pencils in total.
Staedtler give a lead diameter of approximately 5.3 mm.
Staedtler recommend their double-hole tub sharpener 5134. A standard pencil sharpener hole is too small for the jumbo barrel.
Yes. We also list Mars Lumograph jumbo boxes of 6 in single grades, such as 100J-HB and 100J-2B.
Staedtler now pack 100J-S BK5 on an Artist Series card. Supply may be on either card; the five grades are the same.
