Ultra-Light Construction Lines With 7H

Staedtler Mars Lumograph 100-7H is a box of 12 extra-hard pencils that leave a fine, pale line for precise construction and measured drawing.

A 7H mark is light enough to guide the eye without competing with the finished line work. Use it for orthographic projections, geometric constructions with compass and protractor, calligraphy guide rules and the light framework of botanical or architectural studies.

Staedtler list a lead of approximately 2.0 mm for the 7H and say the Lumograph lead has high break resistance. Strokes are described as uniform and repeatable, so marks stay consistent across a long drawing.

Staedtler state the 7H is made in Germany. Keep the point long and sharp with the 510 10 metal sharpener, and draw with a light hand to avoid embossing the paper.

FAQs

Twelve 7H Mars Lumograph pencils in a single Staedtler box.
Slightly. Each step up the H scale is a little harder and lighter, so 7H shows a touch more than 8H.
Firm pressure can indent or tear thin sheets. A light touch on a hard backing works best.
Staedtler recommend the Mars plastic 526 50 for the Lumograph range.
