Each duplicate set contains two sheets: an original (white) and a copy. When you write on the original, the NCR paper transfers the impression to the copy below. You keep one and hand the other to the recipient, giving both parties a record of the delivery.

No. NCR stands for 'No Carbon Required'. The paper itself is chemically coated so that normal pen pressure creates a clean impression on the sheet below. There is no carbon paper to buy, insert or dispose of.

Yes. The protector board is a single stiff insert that you slide beneath whichever set you are currently filling in. It prevents the impression from bleeding through to the forms underneath. Move it down as you work through the book.
