A Black Parker IM Lit Up by a Flame Orange Ring

The Parker IM Vibrant Rings ballpoint 2172946 sets a Flame Orange ring accent against a satin black lacquer body, writes in blue ink with a medium point and is presented in a Parker gift box.

Vibrant Rings is the Parker IM in an all-black, minimalist finish lifted by one bold band of colour, and on this pen the band is Flame Orange. The satin black lacquer is applied over stainless steel, and Parker gives the metal parts a PVD coating that it says offers wear and corrosion resistance. A click action extends and retracts the medium point, and the ink is blue.

The orange ring gives a dark pen some personality without tipping into novelty, a good fit for creative teams or anyone who finds an all-black pen too severe. Parker QUINK ballpoint refills keep it writing, so the pen can stay in daily use once the first refill runs out.

The same ballpoint also comes with an Amethyst Purple ring (2172951) or a Marine Blue ring (2172941). Browse pens worth gifting, compare executive ballpoint pens, or see the full Parker range and our executive pens.

FAQs

Blue. Parker lists blue ink and a medium point for 2172946. The Flame Orange is the ring accent only, so the ink is not orange.
Only the ring colour changes. 2172951 has an Amethyst Purple ring and 2172941 has a Marine Blue ring, and all three share the satin black body, blue ink, medium point and Parker gift box. Parker also makes Vibrant Rings fountain pens and rollerballs, which are separate products.
It is presented in a Parker gift box, shown in Parker's photo with a black lid and a white tray. Parker's wording mentions refills but does not say whether a spare is packed, so please do not count on one.
Parker says the pen uses QUINK ballpoint refills. Parker's own ballpoint refill is sold as the QUINKflow ballpoint refill in fine, medium and broad. Ask us about refills.
Parker describes the point as medium but does not publish a line width in millimetres for this pen, so we do not quote one. Parker also does not publish its dimensions or weight.
Yes. It is a genuine Parker IM Vibrant Rings ballpoint, item 2172946, presented in a Parker gift box.
