Everyday Pick And Pluck Foam In The MAX004

MAX004S is the standard foam version of Panaro's MAX004: pluck the pre-scored cubes to the shape of a small camera, meter or tool set and it stays put in transit.

Under the cubes sits a thin 5 mm pad, and the cubed foam itself comes as two 30 mm layers, so you can cut shallow pockets for flat items and full-depth ones for taller kit. The lid carries 15 mm of convoluted foam that presses down on top. At 0.66 kg, the S version is lighter than the high density HDS.

Inside the case there is 316 x 195 x 81 mm (16 mm lid, 65 mm base), 4.99 litres in all, behind a fold-down front handle. CMC's IP67 report covers the MAX004V shell, and Panaro's spec sheet adds a valve that balances air pressure on its own, a gasket-sealed lid and stacking ribs, for use from -10 to 80 °C.

Panaro split the cubed foam into two 30 mm layers, so you can pluck a shallow pocket in the top layer only, or go through both for taller items.
S is the standard grade and the lighter case at 0.66 kg. HDS uses high density cubes and weighs 0.84 kg; it suits heavier, denser items.
Keep them. If you change the layout later, cubes can be pushed back into a pocket you no longer need.
Yes, it has a fold-down carry handle on the front, which the slimmer MAX003 does not.
