Egg-Crate Foam Top and Bottom for Small Fragile Items

The Panaro MAX001VGPB is the black MAX001 shell lined with convoluted (egg-crate) foam in both the lid and the base, so a small item is cushioned from above and below without any cutting.

Lay the item in, close the lid and the peaks of the two foam layers press around it. That makes it quick for things that change from trip to trip: a pair of earbuds, a small sensor, a watch, a USB key or a delicate tool tip. There is nothing to pluck, so the foam stays reusable for a different item next week.

Outside it is the same MAX001 as the rest of the family at 175 x 115 x 47 mm. The latch is nylon, the seal a polymer O-ring, and the MAX001 shell holds an IP67 certificate; there is also a valve that vents pressure automatically. Made in Italy, according to Panaro.

Foam moulded into rows of soft peaks and dips. Close the case and the two layers mesh around whatever is between them, no knife required.
Panaro give the empty interior as 157 x 82 x 41 mm. The two foam layers take up part of that height, so this version suits thin items rather than anything close to 41 mm deep.
Yes, the shell is the same MAX001 used for the cubed foam MAX001S, but buying the MAX001S is simpler than sourcing a separate insert.
