Measure the pile depth before you order, which is what Floortex advise. For their PVC mats they publish low pile as 1/4″ or less and standard pile as 3/8″ or less, which are 6.35mm and 9.5mm. Floortex state their PVC is free from ortho-phthalates and other toxins, including lead and cadmium. That is their statement about the material, quoted as they word it. Floortex fit their carpet mats with rounded grippers on the underside, which they say keep the mat in place and stop it from sliding. On a carpet inside the pile range above that is what holds it. If your carpet is deeper than the band Floortex publish, the grippers have less to bite into, so measure the pile first.
