Writing and Language Practice for Selective and Scholarship Tests

This Excel workbook prepares Years 5-6 students for the writing and language sections of selective school and scholarship exams.

Written by Alan Horsfield, the updated test edition targets the writing and language components of the NSW Selective High School Placement Test and a range of ACER Scholarship Tests. It explains what examiners look for, then backs that up with model answers and checklists so students can see how a strong response is built and where their own drafts fall short.

More than 60 short practice tests drill spelling, grammar, vocabulary and editing, while four sample writing tests come with model answers. Hints and strategies sit alongside the practice, and detailed answers help students and parents track progress. Students can see clearly how their writing improves over time.

Pair it with other educational books in the Excel range, keep pens and paper handy from our school writing supplies, and protect the cover with book coverings for repeated use at home.
