The Black In The Derwent Artists Range

Derwent 3206700 is Ivory Black, the black colour pencil in the Derwent Artists range, packed here as a box of 6.

Black is the colour most people run out of first. It outlines, it deepens the darkest part of a shadow, and in a tonal drawing it can carry the whole piece alongside a grey and a white. Keeping a box on hand means a worn black does not hold up a tin that is otherwise full. The name Ivory Black 6700 is printed on each barrel, which matters when several near black colours are in use.

ACCO give the strip a large diameter for broad strokes and strong lines, and call the texture slightly waxed for easy blending and shading. They describe the pencils as good for really expressive drawings. The round barrel comes in the deep aquamarine Artists livery, capped with a double-dipped black end.
