C4 is 229 x 324mm under ISO 216 and it takes an A4 sheet, which is 210 x 297mm, flat and unfolded. That is the whole reason the size exists. It also takes A5 and A4 folded once with room to spare. If you are folding A4 in three you want a DL envelope instead, not this one.

A secretive envelope carries an opaque printed pattern on the inside of the paper so the contents cannot be read through the envelope when it is held up to light. It is the feature to look for when the enclosure carries names, account numbers, salary figures or medical detail.

Cumberland describes it as an easy open strip on the long side to assist with insertion and removal of documents. It is a tear line along the opening edge, so the recipient pulls it rather than cutting the envelope. Cumberland publishes no tear force figure or reseal capability for it, so we do not describe it beyond what it does.

The published position is 69mm from the left edge and 25mm up from the bottom edge, and the published size is 95 x 58mm. The dealer records do not label which of the two figures is the width. The dealer channel does not agree on the window height. Two ACCO dealer records give the window as 95 x 58mm positioned 69mm from the left edge and 25mm up from the bottom, and the ACCO retail feed gives it as 38 x 95mm in the same position. The position is consistent across every source. Because the height is contested we publish the majority figure and say so here. A sample is available on request, which is the safe step before a machine inserted run is set up.

MPN 612344 is the same C4 window secretive booklet mailer in the same 100gsm stock with the same window position, without the tear strip. This code, MPN 612347, adds the easy open tear strip and carries a higher price for it. Both are strip seal. The deciding question is whether the recipient side matters to you.

Cumberland publishes no laser or inkjet rating for MPN 612347, so we do not claim one. The laser rated C4 window mailer in the same range is MPN 6123412, which Cumberland's dealer record lists as laser printer compatible with a heat resistant glassine window. Printing on an unrated envelope risks the window panel or the seal adhesive under fuser heat.
