Hang a Sawtooth Frame Without a Hammer

The Command Sawtooth Picture Hanger 17040 holds a frame with a sawtooth bracket up to 1.8kg on a smooth indoor wall, with no nail, screw or drill.

3M Australia lists the 17040 as holding up to 1.8kg and ideal for frames no bigger than 30 x 45cm, with 1 hanger and 2 large strips in the pack. 3M says it works on painted Gyprock, finished wood, tile, metal and glass, and is made for frames with sawtooth back attachments.

The small hook drops into the teeth of the bracket, so a frame can go up as it came from the shop. Peel the strip away later and the wall is left without holes or marks, which suits rentals, offices and classrooms that change displays.

No. Our photographs include a 3M panel reading do not use for wireback frames, and 3M points wire-backed frames to its wire-back picture hanger instead.
3M Australia lists 1 hanger and 2 large strips. One of our current photographs shows a twin pack with 2 hangers, which is a different pack. For several frames, the 17042 pack has 3 hangers.
3M Australia lists painted walls, finished wood, glass, tile, metal and other smooth surfaces. 3M's Command FAQ says not to use it on wallpaper, which can tear, and that it will not stick to brick.
3M's Command FAQ says the one hour wait gives the adhesive time to build strong adhesion to the wall. Clean the wall with isopropyl alcohol first, as 3M notes household cleaners can leave a residue.
No. 3M's picture hanging page says indoor use only, between 10 and 40.5 degrees Celsius, and 3M's FAQ notes the adhesive may soften above 40 degrees.

Mega Office Supplies accepts change-of-mind returns for unopened and unused products within 14 days from the invoice date, provided the item is returned in its original packaging and in resalable condition.
