Copperplate 6H Pencils for Precise Lines and Detail

Columbia Copperplate 617006H is a box of 20 hexagonal 6H lead pencils. Its ACCO Brands descriptor is precise lines and detail, which points it towards drafting, marking out and detailed technical work rather than everyday writing.

Copperplate is the series ACCO Brands calls Columbia's flagship, and the 6H shares its red body and dark brown capped end. ACCO records the barrel type as hexagonal. In ACCO's photography the barrel shows 6H with the columbia and copperplate names, which matters in a drafting kit where a 6H and an HB look alike from a distance.

ACCO Brands says the lead sharpens easily without crumbling. Beside the 6H on its box, the printed text reads "leads don't crumble", followed by "easy to sharpen". ACCO describes the lead itself as premium and high quality, and lists smooth writing performance among its features.

The 6H can be paired with other grades from our lead pencils collection or the drawing supplies range for a full drafting set. Pencil sharpeners, along with every Columbia line we carry, are listed on separate pages.

FAQs

ACCO Brands describes Copperplate 6H as precise lines and detail. It is listed under code 617006H in a box of 20.
Alongside 617006H, our shelves hold every other Copperplate box grade, running from 2H to 6B, each sold as its own 20-pencil box. Mixing grades is a matter of ordering several boxes.
No. ACCO describes a dark brown capped end and the 617006H photos show that cap with no rubber tip. Erasers are a separate purchase on Mega.
Next to the 6H grade the carton reads "leads don't crumble", then "easy to sharpen". The ACCO Brands listing says the same thing: the lead sharpens easily without crumbling.
