Yellow Oxide, an Earthy Golden Ochre
Yellow Oxide brings an earthy golden ochre to the Matte Flow Acrylic line from Jo Sonja's, and a 75ml tube of it serves antiquing, landscapes and country style work.
Expect an earth colour: our swatch photo shows an earthy golden ochre with a soft, dusty warmth. The ochre label band prints Yellow Oxide and Series 1, with Jaune Oxyde, Oxidgelb and Amarillo Óxido, and no symbol is visible beside the series number in our photo. The rest of the tube carries the classic Artists' Colours design and 75ml size marking.
Ochre gives country style pieces, landscapes and wood grain effects an aged, natural warmth. It also tones down brighter colours on the palette and makes a calm background for folk art motifs. Folk art teachers often reach for an ochre first when planning a traditional design.
For a traditional country style design, drag wood grain effects with flats from our craft paint brushes, prepare surfaces using the painting mediums range, and find the other earth colours in acrylic paints.
