Red Violet, a Deep Wine Red-Purple
Red Violet is a deep wine colour in Jo Sonja's Matte Flow Acrylic, and the 75ml tube suits plums, grapes, fuchsias and rich backgrounds.
The swatch photo shows a deep wine red with a violet lean, darker where the paint is thicker. A magenta-plum label band prints Red Violet and Series 2, with Rouge Violet, Violett-Rot and Violeta Rojizo; no symbol is visible beside the series. The third image is a styled palette shot of two other colours, Permanent Alizarine and Storm Blue.
Wine tones bring plums, grapes and fuchsias to life and give florals a rich, moody base. Red Violet also works for borders and backgrounds on boxes and trays where a strong purple would be too bright. On a folk art palette it fills the gap between the crimsons and the purples, saving a mixing step.
For grapes, plums and fuchsias, paint grapes and petals using round brushes in our craft paint brushes collection, find neighbouring purples and reds under acrylic paints, and look at art and craft supplies for blanks.
