Burgundy for Rich Wine Reds
This 250ml bottle of Jo Sonja's Burgundy is a deep wine red for roses, berries and rich traditional schemes.
Burgundy looks plum through the bottle, yet the brushed swatch shows a deep wine red, so trust the swatch more than the bottle when planning a palette. Printed under the Artists' Colours heading for Burgundy are Series 1, ASTM 2 and, for Burgundy, the pigment codes PR.170, PB.29. 250ml of Burgundy suits bigger works than a tube.
Dark roses, cherries and heritage trim colours come straight from the bottle, giving depth to the shadow side of reds without reaching for black. Burgundy also brings a traditional feel to Christmas ribbons, heritage stencils and Victorian style borders on boxes and trays.
Shaded roses in Burgundy call for a flat shader from craft paint brushes and a retarder or glaze from painting mediums for softer blends. Lighter pinks and leaf greens for the same design are in acrylic paints.
