Transparent Red Oxide for Rust, Timber and Autumn

Transparent Red Oxide is a rusty brick brown at full body with a copper-orange glow where it is brushed thin, ideal for rusted metal, old timber and autumn foliage.

Chroma wraps this colour in a deep crimson band printed TRANSPARENT RED OXIDE, Series 2, beside an open circle. Rotoxid Transparent, Rouge Oxide Transparent and Ocre Rojizo Transparente are listed underneath. The familiar Atelier panel follows with Fine Artists' Paint and Est. 1965, and the white base of the tube reads Interactive Acrylic with Unlockable Formula.

Warm earthy landscapes, weathered fences and leaf litter all benefit from this rust brown. Note that the band on the tube is crimson rather than brown, so check the name when picking it out. The 80ml size works for studio sessions and travels easily to classes.

This oxide is code AI17090, a Series 2 tube in the Atelier Interactive range. Other parts of an earth palette, from colours to tools, are in more acrylic paints, painting supplies and brushes for acrylic work.

FAQs

A single 80ml tube of Transparent Red Oxide, Chroma code AI17090. The rust-brown sample in our photo is a painted swatch for reference, not a separate item.
That is how Chroma has printed this tube. Our swatch shows a brick brown with a copper glow, so go by the swatch and name rather than the band colour.
The tube reads Fine Artists' Paint under the Atelier logo. We rely on that printed line alone for this red oxide.
Not from our photos. If the label carries one for this oxide, it is outside the visible area, so we do not state a rating.
