Paynes Grey Atelier Free Flow Acrylic, 60ml Bottle
Paynes Grey is a dark blue-black slate grey for storm skies, night scenes, cool shadows and moody tonal studies.
The swatch shows a slate blue-black at full strength that thins to a cool, blue-tinged grey. Paynes Grey sits under the Atelier Free Flow Artists' Acrylic banner. Payne's Grau is the German name. This slate grey rates Lightfastness ASTM 1; Paynes Grey reads Woolscale 8:8:8. The Paynes Grey is Series 2, marked transparent. For this blue-black, the label prints pigment PB.29:PBk.7. AT12050 is the Chroma code.
The 60ml Paynes Grey bottle is a handy studio and travel size for tonal sketches, night studies and darkening shadows. Marked transparent, the Paynes Grey suits glazing over dry layers. This blue-black makes a low-cost trial size at 60ml. Paynes Grey has a flip-top cap for small squeezes.
Paynes Grey sits well beside acrylic paints. The Paynes Grey suits paint brushes, and this slate grey goes well on canvas and paper. Paynes Grey kits also use painting accessories.
