A Mid Back Mesh Chair That Sets Its Own Tension

The Buro Vela, code 141-M3, is a black mid back mesh chair supplied without arms, running on Buro's Dynamic Intelligence mechanism with self weighting tension and a 4 position lock.

Most synchro chairs need a tension knob wound up or down for each person. On the Vela, Buro describe the tension as self weighting, adjusting automatically to the body weight of whoever sits down, which suits desks shared across a team. The seat and backrest angle move together and can be locked in any of 4 positions. The seat is contoured polyurethane moulded foam, covered in Elastic III fabric in black.

A seat slide sets the depth over a 430 to 480mm range, and the lumbar support adjusts. Buro list the seat height at 475 to 595mm and the chair at 640mm wide, 640mm deep and 950mm high without arms. It rolls on a black nylon base with 60mm soft PU castors. Buro list arms (code 182-1) and a polished aluminium base as custom options, and a 10 year guarantee excluding upholstery, with conditions.
