The cover is printed with panels to write on. That is what makes this a notes file rather than a plain lateral file - Avery prints panels on the cover so notes and file information go straight onto the file, and the right record is found without opening it.
The side tab is reinforced. Avery's published purpose for it is colour code labelling, which is the tab you read when the file is standing on a shelf.
An open top wallet for loose paper. Avery's own description is an open top wallet for loose document storage, and they name no fastener.
Avery's own line on the expansion is that it makes the file ideal for storing heavier paperwork. That is their wording, and it is as far as they go - there is no load rating behind it.
A correction. Our own listing for this code claimed that it is a notes-sized format. Avery publishes none of it, so it has been removed.
Avery publishes no sheet count beyond the expansion figure and no load rating. Where they are silent, so are we.
What these are for. Avery's published use is writing detailed notes on the cover for quick referencing, so anyone can find the correct file with the right record, and the open top takes loose paper documents.

Returns, Refunds & Replacements
Mega Office Supplies accepts change-of-mind returns for unopened and unused products within 14 days from the invoice date, provided the item is returned in its original packaging and in resalable condition. Original shipping costs are not refundable, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and a restocking fee may apply depending on the product type and supplier. Some items, including electronics, assembled or installed furniture, food, beverages, medicines, custom-made products, and certain bulk or special-order items, are not eligible for return unless required under Australian Consumer Law.
