ACCO Australia intends the 500A for enamel, porcelain or melamine surfaced boards; Artline's website extends that to traditional and electronic whiteboards and says glassboards work too. The box print adds that it is also suitable for electronic whiteboards. Guidance differs between board makers, so please check yours before use.

The box asks users to keep the markers capped horizontally when not in use. ACCO's listing gives no other storage guidance.

ACCO's listing and the box describe the 500A ink as low odour, but the SDS ACCO issued for EK-500A, EK-509A and EK-550A (SDS date 15 Jan 2024) describes a solvent odour and rates the ink highly flammable.
