Three tables that clip together into the Aboriginal flag, or split into three

2 rectangular tables 1500 x 750mm (one red, one black), each with a 600mm semicircular cut-out. 1 circular table 600mm diameter, yellow. Assembled: 1500 x 1500mm. Height adjusts 430mm to 750mm. Bulky item - freight quoted separately.

Read the protocol note below before you order. It is short and we would rather you read it now than after delivery.

Assembled, the three pieces make the Aboriginal flag - black over red with the yellow circle in the middle. Magnets in the rectangular tables hold it together. Split apart, you have three ordinary tables for independent work, then push them back together for group time.

The height range is the practical selling point. 430mm is floor-sitting height. 750mm is standard chair height. One table covers a Prep room and a Year 6 room. Adjustment needs an allen key, deliberately, so children cannot change it.

Be honest about the shape: the assembled table is square, and the real flag is a 2:3 rectangle with a yellow circle half the flag's height. This is a representation of the flag, not a scale reproduction. Worth knowing if you plan to teach from it.

About the flag, and a protocol note

The Aboriginal flag was designed in 1971 by Harold Thomas, a Luritja man. In January 2022 the Commonwealth acquired the copyright, so the flag can now be used freely by anyone.

Free to use is not the same as appropriate in every context, and this is furniture. Children will put lunch boxes, paint and elbows on it. Some school communities are completely comfortable with that and see the table as a daily, visible acknowledgement. Others will feel the flag should not be a surface. Both views are held sincerely and it is not our call to make for you.

If your school has an Aboriginal Education Worker, a cultural advisor, or a relationship with local Elders, have the conversation before you order. We would much rather you asked first than found out afterwards.

What is not published

No weight limit, no table-top material, and no word on whether the allen key is supplied. We have asked for all three. Ask us before you order.

FAQs

That is a question for your school community, not for us. Some communities see the table as a visible daily acknowledgement; others feel the flag should not be a surface. Both views are held sincerely. If you have an Aboriginal Education Worker, a cultural advisor, or a relationship with local Elders, have the conversation before you order.
Harold Thomas, a Luritja man, in 1971. The Commonwealth acquired the copyright in January 2022, so the flag can be used freely.
No, and we would rather say so. The assembled table is square at 1500 x 1500mm. The real flag is a 2:3 rectangle with a yellow circle half its height. This is a representation.
Yes - that is the point of the design. Split for independent work, magnet back together for group time.
The supplier does not publish a load rating, or the top material, or whether the allen key comes in the box. We have asked for all three. Ask us before you order.
