The reason a folded card looks cheap is almost always a missing crease. Above about 200 gsm the outer fibres split along the fold and no amount of care with the fold itself fixes it. Crease, then fold. Trimming order matters too, since finishing after lamination gives a clean sealed edge. See paper cutters, binding machines and laminators.
