Tip shape comes first for any young group: blunt or rounded for early years, pointed only where fine cutting genuinely needs it. Left-handed pairs have to be properly reversed rather than remoulded, or the blades push paper apart instead of cutting. Geometry sets should be checked against the syllabus rather than the price.
