These work because they are strongly alkaline, so treat them as a chemical rather than a cleaner. Ventilate, wear gloves, and keep them off aluminium and painted surfaces where they can etch. Dwell time does the work; scrubbing early only spreads it. Never mix with anything acidic. For daily wiping, a general purpose cleaner is the right tool.
