Nobody writes a productivity blog about the office kettle. But a team that can grab a decent coffee without walking to the cafe down the road loses a lot less of the morning - and feels a bit more looked after while they are at it.
A properly stocked breakroom is a small spend that pays back all week. Here is the checklist.
The daily essentials
Start with what gets used every day: tea and coffee supplies - recognisable names like Bushells, Moccona, Lipton and Twinings - plus the milk and sugar that always run out first.
Something to go with the cuppa
A tin of biscuits or a bowl of something sweet does quiet work for morale. Stock up on biscuits and confectionery for the meeting table and the 3pm slump.
The gear that makes it work
A kettle or urn that survives a busy office, and the bits everyone forgets until they are gone: kettles and appliances, kitchenware and kitchen paper towel.
Keep the leftovers fresh
Round it off with food storage containers so the shared fridge stays civilised.
