Ten colours of dyed raffia for weaving and textile art
Zart Raffia Coloured, supplier code CQ043, holds twenty 25g bundles of dyed Madagascan raffia, two in each of ten colours, for classroom weaving, collage and craft.
The Creative School Supply Company lists the colours as yellow, orange, red, burgundy, hot pink, purple, blue, lime green, dark green and natural. It describes the colours as fade-proof and waterproof, and names weaving, basket making, collage and decorative craft as uses. The supplier states the natural fibres are strong yet flexible, which suits braiding, knotting, stitching and mixed media work.
The supplier sees this raffia helping students experiment with texture, layering and construction, in both traditional and contemporary craft. It notes the raffia pairs well with paper, fabric, wood and clay. That makes it a resource for 3D sculpture, textile art and cultural craft studies, as the supplier puts it.
Natural raffia in a 1kg bag is also in the range. Browse educational craft supplies, needles and yarn in knitting craft supplies, glues in craft adhesives and the wider Zart catalogue.
