A Warm Light Brown For Furry Friends

FIMO kids 8030-71 is a 42 g block of light brown oven-bake clay from Staedtler, a soft caramel tone sitting between pale pink 43 and brown 7 in the FIMO kids chart.

Light brown is the go-to colour for animals with fur and for anything that should look baked or wooden: teddy bears, puppies, horses, hedgehogs, gingerbread figures, bread rolls for a play bakery, fences and tree stumps. Paired with darker brown 8030-7 it gives a two-tone coat; with white it makes a cream.

Each block comes divided into 8 pieces and the clay is very soft, so children can roll it thin for ears and paws. Staedtler suggest it for ages 8 and over. The finished model is baked for 30 minutes at 110°C.

Find brown 8030-7 and more in FIMO or the modelling clay range, and see Staedtler for the rest of the brand.

FAQs

Light brown 71 is a soft caramel shade; brown 7 is noticeably darker. Many animal models use both.
Yes. Any FIMO kids block can be added to a set. Light brown is handy for horses, cats and other animals in those projects.
Staedtler give no figure for any shade shift in the oven, so if you are matching colours, try a scrap first.
Give it 30 minutes at 110°C in the oven. It will not dry hard in the air.
Staedtler recommend FIMO kids for children 8 and older, with adult help at the oven.
