Tangerine Orange For Fruit, Foxes And Pumpkins

Tangerine is Staedtler's bright orange FIMO soft, article 8020-42, in a 57 g block of oven-bake clay.

Orange does a lot of work in figure and food modelling: mandarins and oranges, carrots, pumpkins and Halloween jack o lanterns, goldfish, foxes, tigers, beaks and autumn leaves. Tangerine is clear and bright, so it stays orange even when small.

Staedtler's warm colour board places it beside sunflower and the reds. Mix tangerine with sunflower for a marigold, or add a little chocolate for rust and autumn tones. Peach and vanilla on the same board are the soft pastel versions if you need something paler.

FIMO soft is ready to use, divided into 8 portions and packed in a resealable wrapper. Tangerine work is set hard by 30 minutes of baking at 110°C.

Knead a small amount of chocolate into tangerine. Add it a little at a time; the 8 portions help repeat the mix.
Peach is the pastel option in the FIMO soft range. Tangerine blended with white also lightens it.
Staedtler describe FIMO soft as ready to use. Kneading it briefly in warm hands makes it easier to shape.
