Six Lumograph Drawing Pencils With Eraser And Sharpener

Staedtler 61 100 C6 is a Mars Lumograph 100 sketching set: a cardboard box of six drawing pencils in assorted degrees, one eraser and one metal sharpener.

The six degrees are 2H, HB, B, 2B, 4B and 6B. That runs from a hard, light grade for construction lines through the middle grades for general drawing to two soft grades for deep shadow, which is the usual starting spread for a sketching or life drawing class. Lead thickness also changes with the degree: Staedtler give approximately 2.0 mm for 2B and harder, 2.5 mm for 4B and 3.6 mm for 6B.

Mars Lumograph 100 is Staedtler's premium drawing pencil. They describe finely graded graphite for smooth tonal transitions with a subtle metallic lustre, high break resistance in sharpening and use, and strokes that reproduce well when artwork is scanned or copied. Staedtler state the pencils are made in Germany.
