Red Duo Marker For Corrections And Flags

Staedtler 348-2 is the red Lumocolor permanent duo marker, fine at one end and medium at the other, packed 10 to a box.

Red is the colour of attention: a fault tag on a returned unit, a "reject" on a carton, an expiry date on a chemical bottle or a correction on a laminated sheet. The duo handles both sizes of mark; the fine F tip, about 0.6 mm, fits small text on vials and cable tags, while the M end makes the flag visible from further away.

According to Staedtler the 348 has smudge-proof, waterproof ink that dries in seconds and has a low odour, with no xylene or toluene. It is airplane safe, the PP barrel and caps are built for long service, and DRY SAFE ink survives being left uncapped for days.

Black is the duo colour Staedtler rate as lightfast and weatherproof; red is best for indoor tags or as a temporary flag.

That is Staedtler web artwork. Their Australian catalogue gives the M tip as approx. 1.0 mm, so we have not quoted a single figure for it. The F tip is approx. 0.6 mm in both.
Staedtler only rate black 348 ink as lightfast and weatherproof. For long life outdoors, use the black 348-9.
Staedtler make the 488 48 refill pot for the duo, and say it gives up to 6 refills. Mega currently lists the black 488 48-9.
