An Orange Pigment Liner For Warm Line Work

Staedtler 308 05-4 is the orange pigment liner with a line of about 0.5 mm, sold here as a box of 10 pens.

Orange sits at the warm end of the six pigment liner colours Staedtler group in their assorted wallet, alongside red, violet, blue, green and brown. It gives a clear, warm line for fruit and autumn leaves in botanical sketches, for highlighting a route or a revision on a plan, and for colour coding notes where black would disappear into the text.

Staedtler load it with pigment ink that they describe as indelible, lightfast and waterproof on paper, and their catalogue adds acid free. Lines stay sharp when a highlighter goes over them, so marked-up pages stay readable. The long metal tip runs cleanly along a ruler, and the PP barrel is built for long service. Staedtler also say the pen will not leak on a flight, thanks to automatic pressure equalisation. Keep the cap on between uses: the long cap-off time Staedtler quote applies to their black ink only.

Staedtler describe the ink as waterproof on paper and indelible once dry. Give it a moment to dry before a wash or marker goes over the line.
Not for long. Staedtler only give the 12 hour cap-off figure for black ink, so cap the orange pen when you put it down.
Staedtler list the colour range in two widths, 0.3 mm and 0.5 mm. We sell the 0.5 mm orange, and the 0.3 mm colours come as an assorted wallet.
