A Slim Green Pen For Neat Board Notes

Staedtler Lumocolor whiteboard pen 301-5 is a box of 10 green dry-wipe pens with a slim pen-format barrel and a line of about 1 mm.

The 301 writes a narrower line than the 341 compact, so it suits small writing: lap boards, desk planners, labels on a stock board or notes squeezed into a timetable grid. Green works as the done or approved colour, or for a second set of handwriting.

Staedtler grade the line as M, medium, at approx. 1 mm. Their ink dries quickly, has little smell and contains neither xylene nor toluene; a dry cloth removes it from whiteboards and also from glass or porcelain without a trace, they say. The tip is locked and the barrel and cap are PP.

Instead of DRY SAFE, the 301 has 8h CAP-OFF: Staedtler say it can be left open for 8 hours without drying up, enough for a teaching day. Staedtler state it is made in Germany.

Line width is graded M by Staedtler, about 1 mm. That is narrower than the 341 compact at about 1 to 2 mm, but it is not an extra-fine pen.
Staedtler say up to 8 hours without drying up, tested to ISO 554. Put the cap back on overnight.
It writes, but a line about 1 mm wide gets lost at a distance. For big boards choose a broader Lumocolor marker.
