3M makes this tape for the bound edges and surfaces of books and other paper material, and lists magazines, pamphlets and record album jackets among its uses. That makes it a staple for school libraries, classroom readers and resource rooms where well-used paperbacks start to split at the spine. 3M describes Scotch book tape as a permanent adhesive tape that conforms to covers, spines and pages.
